• Booking information: preferred subjects, session times, special requirements
• Payment details: processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
• Communications: messages sent through our platform or support email

• IP address, browser type, and operating system
• Pages visited, session duration, and click activity
• Cookie identifiers (see Section 8)

How We Use Your Data

• Create and manage your account on the platform
• Match students with suitable tutors based on subject and level requirements
• Process session bookings and payments through Stripe
• Send booking confirmations, session reminders, and receipts by email
• Enable live video sessions via our virtual classroom
• Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
• Send occasional service updates or newsletters (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues

Who We Share Data With

We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform:

• Stripe: payment processing (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified)
• Hostinger: web hosting and server infrastructure (EU/EEA data centres)
• Zoom: virtual classroom for live video sessions
• Google / Meta: analytics and advertising (where you have consented to cookies)

All processors are contractually bound to use your data only to deliver their service and to maintain appropriate security standards. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the safety of any person.

Data Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data: retained for the duration of your account plus 2 years after closure
• Booking and payment records: 7 years (UK tax and financial regulations)
• Tutor application data: 12 months from the date of application if unsuccessful
• Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent

After the applicable period, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data

Our platform is designed to support children's education. Where a student is under 13, we require a parent or guardian to create the account and provide consent for the child to use the service.

Parent accounts can add children as linked sub-accounts. The parent remains responsible for managing the child's account. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without verified parental consent.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
